SKINCARE HAS BECOME CROWDED
Serum. Essence. Ampoule. Acid. Mist. Booster. Retinoid. Mask. Oil.
Modern skincare gives us extraordinary options, but options can easily become excess. A routine can grow from three products to twelve without anyone stopping to ask the most important question: What is each product actually doing?
Complexity is not the same thing as sophistication.

START WITH PURPOSE, NOT PRODUCT COUNT
A smarter routine begins by identifying what you want to accomplish. Is the priority hydration? Visible tone? Texture? Barrier comfort? Fine lines? Firmness? Post-procedure cosmetic care under professional guidance?
Once the objective is clear, product selection becomes easier. Ingredients can be chosen to complement one another rather than accidentally duplicating the same function across four different bottles. That also makes it easier to identify what is helping—and what may be unnecessary.
BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION FIRST
Good skincare does not need to be boring, but it does need a foundation. Gentle cleansing, sufficient hydration, an appropriate moisturizer, daytime sun protection, and one well-designed treatment product can accomplish far more than a crowded routine that leaves skin chronically irritated.
From there, additional products should earn their way in. Does this step address something the current routine does not? Does it improve the experience? Does it complement the ingredients already being used? Is the skin tolerating everything well?
If the answer is no, adding one more product may simply add noise.
The most advanced routine is not necessarily the longest one. Sometimes sophistication looks like knowing exactly what to use—and what to leave out.
